In the year of 2018, many movies were played in theaters. Hundreds of movies came out, many of them becoming teens favorite movies. Here are some of the top movies:

Incredibles 2

This is the second movie of the Incredibles that we had all been waiting for, 10 long years of waiting. This movie takes off where the first movie left off. It focuses on the individual characters’ lives, zeroing in on the kids’ and the parents’ separate lives. It also brings in many new superheroes as well as old ones; for example, Frozone makes an appearance. Many surprising things happen in this film. It is family friendly and recommended for children. Senior Annarose Alemayehu says, “I was very surprised that the sequel was very good; usually the sequels aren’t as good as the first one.”

Aquaman and Avengers Infinity War

These two movies appeal to superhero movie lovers. Avengers merged the two worlds of the Avengers and many from other action movies as well, like Guardians of the Galaxy. These two groups team together to stop Thanos. This movie had many viewers feeling mixed emotions at the end, where many of the characters did not survive.

Mary Poppins Returns

This movie was the update of the original 1964 film. With a new cast and more updated film equipment, this movie has better resolution and more appeal to the 21st century audience. Senior Molly Puig went to see the movie and said, “It was really good, and I enjoyed it. I recommend it for children.”

A Quiet Place and Halloween

Those who are fans of horror movies will like these two films. Both are horror and thrillers, keeping the audience at the edge of their seats. With many unexpected turns, these films are both topped the charts and easily became horror movie lovers’ favorites. Halloween was a continuation of the original Halloween. Daniel Cusimano saw both movies and says, “A Quiet Place had me shaking in my boots; definitely would recommend for horror loving teens.”

Love Simon

Love Simon was a heart-warming movie about a boy who is afraid to tell his family and friends that he’s gay. He hides his true feelings, afraid of what others might think. This movie is a great film for teens to watch and is like a teen romance movie with a twist. I recommend many teens to see this movie.

Aquaman drew the superhero crowd.
