Doesn’t even look like Florida at Busch Gardens Christmas Town

Lauren McCloy, Staff Writer

  1. Christmas Town at Busch Gardens: now through January 2nd, you can visit Busch Gardens Tampa Bay with thousands of lights strung throughout the entire park, holiday shows like Christmas on Ice, and nightly firework displays. Buy a single ticket for $89.99 or $120.99 for a yearly pass. The festivities are worth it if you are able to drop a buck or two on it!

  1. Winter Village at Curtis Hixon waterfront park: now through January 2nd, you can ice skate outside in the middle of Downtown Tampa. This year at Winter Village, shop small from seven boutique and local retailers. I walked down there the other day and will 100% have to go back. With the coffee and hot chocolate from Kauwa coffee company and a bunch of little shops to walk by, it was adorable! Even if the ice skating rank is small :)….

3.The lighted boat parade at Tampa Riverwalk: December 18th at 6:00pm. If you know Tampa Bay you know that they know how to put on a good boat parade. Tampa’s largest lighted boat parade of the year will happen the Saturday before Christmas along the Hillsborough River.

4. The Nutcracker at the Straz center, December 17th through December 19th. This show is an all-time classic and a holiday favorite. Performances take place Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7p.m., and Sunday at 6 p.m.

5. Tampa Bay Festival of Lights at the Hillsborough fairgrounds: now to December 26th. This is a favorite of mine, and I definitely will be doing it. A nearly 2-mile-long drive through light show at the Hillsborough County Fairgrounds ONE MILLION lights will guide your way through the holiday spectacle, leading you to Santa’s Village.

6. Snowed inn Sparkman at Sparkman wharf: Thursdays in December. The ski slopes are coming to Tampa Bay this December, On Thursdays during the month of December, the Sparkman lawn will be transformed into the ultimate post-slope hangout spot complete with bonfires, falling snow, a ski store pop-up, etc.

7. Enchant Christmas at Tropicana field: November 26th through January 2nd. Ticket prices starting at $20. They’re selling fast, so don’t wait. Go to enchantchristmas.com

All and all the Tampa area and Florida itself has a bunch of holiday activities, and although we will never get the white Christmas, we can get somewhat close. Because at least we can enjoy outside Christmas lights without freezing! Happy holidays!
