Round two of word association. If you didn’t catch the last edition of The Talon, this is how it works: you give someone a word and they say the first thing that comes to mind. This word association is based all around the end of high school for seniors. Here are the ten words we’re reacting to this time:
1) high school   2) summer 2017   3) prom   4) May   5) water wars   6) seniors   7) underclassmen   8) goals   9) college   10) graduation

Addy Burwell
1) education   2) lit   3) terrible music   4) day   5) liquid snowball fight   6) senioritis   7) still taller than me   8) unattainable   9) Go Bulls!   10) expensive

Ricardo Golac
1) knowledge   2) lit   3) homecoming 2.0   4) exams   5) What about Flint?   6) Social Security   7) Our future.   8) unattainable   9) debt   10) freedom

Danny Brooks
1) East Lake   2) Michigan   3) Hannah   4) spring   5) prank   6) old   7) babies   8) squad   9) study   10) cap

Ben Chong
1) tired   2) sleep   3) Danny   4) flowers   5) eh   6) skip   7) gross   8) soccer   9) UCF   10) soon

Kevin Costello
1) finished   2) Michigan   3) tuxedo   4) Talladega   5) wet   6) squad   &) future   8) NASCAR   9) Noles   10) excited

Evan Rocha
1) alright   2) Japan   3) eh   4) comparable a fiery place mentioned in the Bible   5) Dog the Bounty Hunter   6) best   7) less   8) 3 on AP Stats   9) USF   10) expensive

Maribeth Graham
1) long   2) wahoo!   3) date   4) flowers   5) moist   6) done   7) annoying   8) diploma   9) move out   10) soon

Jeremy Bertisch
1) nah   2) yeet   3) dapper hoco   4) graduation   5) what   6) about time   7) eh   8) music   9) please   10) Bye Felicia

Cristina Himelhoch
1) prison   2) opportunity   3) happy   4) Mother’s Day   5) not involved   6) immature   7) annoying   8) accomplishments   9) FSU   10) FINALLY!

Some results were predictable (Kevin talking about NASCAR), some not so much (Addy calling water wars liquid snowball fights). It’s interesting to see the two sides people see to graduation and to college: they’re excited, but also concerned about expenses and debt. Kind of sad, really. Well, either way, we’ll be out soon, starting our lives.
