There are so many treats to make and enjoy over the Christmas season. With cookies being one of the best treats, there are so many to choose from. There are chocolate chips, sugar, oatmeal, and gingerbread cookies. Cookies are fun and easy to make. They can be made from scratch, cooked from a packet, or bought and then decorated. There are so many options with what to do. With Christmas coming up, it is a necessity to bake sugary sweets for all to eat. Senior Annarose Alemayehu says that baking warm chocolate cookies is a tradition in her household.

The most popular cookies for this holiday is the gingerbread cookies. The gingerbread cookies can be made into gingerbread men or gingerbread houses. Families can have multiple cookies for their children to decorate. The cookies can be decorated into people and the houses can be decorated into anything one desires. With so many candy options to use for decorations, children can use frosting to stick the pieces of the house together, Dots candy, Candy Canes, Hershey’s, Twizzlers, M&M’s, and more, anyone can make what they desire. It is a fun way to have families bond and spend more time together. During the holiday season, many have their family come into town, like their siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, mothers, and fathers. Making these treats allow for the family to spend time together and have a fun treat to eat.

There are also so many different types of candy that have specials for the holidays. Hershey’s kisses have the Candy Cane Kisses, M&M’s have the Peppermint and the Holiday Mints, Ghirardelli Peppermint Squares, and KitKat Mints, and more. These all go good with a large cup of hot chocolate while sitting by the fire. Listening to Christmas music, being by the fire, decorating the tree, and enjoying the company of family, these are what keep the holidays meaningful.
