Being cooped up inside from day to day has encouraged everyone to try new things. This cooking report is the most recent project of mine. For my cooking project I will try to cook salmon and asparagus. I choose this dish mainly because it is the only thing left in my fridge that I am confident enough to make for dinner, so hopefully I will nail this. Before I start, I will give you a rundown of my cooking process. First, I will need to season the fish with my mom’s special seasoning. Blended together parsley, green onions, and garlic with a little salt make up the best seasoning for meats and veggies. After my salmon is seasoned, I will pop it into the air fryer for 20 minutes for a crisp taste. While the salmon is cooking the asparagus will be heating on the stove. The goal is for this dinner to be the best I’ve ever made.

When making the seasoning I was not sure how much of each ingredient I was supposed to add so I put what I felt was a good amount. Of course, as the head chef I had to give the seasoning a taste and it wasn’t so bad, so I promptly put it on the fish. After ensuring my salmon was thoroughly seasoned, I slid it into the air fryer.  It was now time to work on the asparagus. Asparagus is very healthy for you; however, it’s not the tastiest veggie. To enhance the flavor, I added a dash of pepper and some of my mom’s seasoning. I will admit the pepper was not the smartest idea, as when I added it to the hot skillet it gave me a strong cough. Once I finally got over the coughing attack, I noted to never put pepper on the stove again and checked on my fish. Shockingly, a portion of my fish was burned so I scooped it out and placed it on a plate to cool. I never predicated how stressful cooking would be when it is only you but once the asparagus was ready, I joined it with the fish.

I would say that cooking can be fun but not as easy as you think it would be. I figured the most important thing is to plan out what you are going to put in your meal. For the most part I was guessing what I could put inside. Even though the food was decent the process is what had me coughing and burning food. It was fun to cook for dinner and I’m excited to do more dishes once we actually stock up till then my next dish will be peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
