Chaos in Colorado

Colorado as well as all other states have seen a large decrease in shootings. However, recently shootings have seen an uptick.

On Monday, March 22nd in Boulder, Colorado, ten people were killed in a shooting that took place in a King Soopers grocery store. The man behind the shooting has been placed in custody and made his first appearance in court on Thursday. During this court hearing it was decided that the perpetrator will be subject to a mental health evaluation before further legal proceedings occur. As of now the motive behind the shooting has not been found but it is reasonable to assume that it was done in a fit of mental illness fueled rage. According to his past records, the suspect has repeatedly suffered massive fits of anger as a result of delusions that he experienced frequently. Many Democrats including President Biden and former President Obama have asked for lawmakers to crack down on gun control as a result of this tragedy. Some Republicans are instead focusing on the fact that the man has a Muslim name and are using it as evidence that there needs to be more support for border control and more involvement in foreign wars. Personally, all I care about is that the criminal has been charged with ten counts of first degree murder and that he will most certainly face jail time for his actions.
