Fishing, whether for food or for sport, is a fantastic hobby and outlet for any person. Fishing is like meditation for the manly. It not only immerses yourself in nature, but gives you a peaceful and relaxing environment for you to think or just clear your mind. I started fishing when I was only 5 years old and I have not stopped since. Now, I always find time to go fishing at least once a week and I usually go every day in the summer. Because of this addiction, I have compiled the best fishing spots in the area for anyone who wants to try out this entertaining activity.

President’s Landing:

This Lansbrook neighborhood is a safe haven for bass fisherman. With over 10 stocked ponds, this community is a great place for anyone looking to catch some bass or catfish. Using corn or worms, any pond in this neighborhood is a guaranteed catch. As a resident of President’s Landing, I know that this is one of the best spots in the area. I have caught the majority of my catches in these ponds. The only downside to this neighborhood is that some residents tend to be more hostile toward fisherman, so be careful!

East Lake Woodlands:

This area, like President’s Landing, is a rich neighborhood stocked with plenty of bass. Its vast golf course contains a multitude of healthy ponds that are perfect for fishing. The only trick to fishing this community is getting past the gate person. My method is to say I’m going to “John Stevens” house.

Dunedin Causeway:

This beach paradise is what saltwater fishermen dream of.  Its double-sided coastal cutoffs make it accessible and easy for any fisherman. Live or artificial shrimp will produce consistent catches with little effort. Plus, the view isn’t so bad either.
