It is hard to believe that almost two months of school have flown by already. Senior year feels as though it is speeding by. With homecoming already over, Halloween coming up, and so much more occurring during the month, it’s hard to believe that it is already October.

Living in Florida, it is hard to experience seasons due to the constant hot and humid weather that is constantly over us. While October and these next months are approaching, everyone gets excited for the cold weather to wear sweaters without having a heatstroke and going to pumpkin patches to take cute pictures. This hot and humid weather Florida usually endures is becoming unbearable, more than usual. It is October and the weather is in the 90’s, while northern states are experiencing weather in the 50’s or 60’s. How is everyone supposed to get into the Halloween feeling if it isn’t like Halloween outside? Senior Anna Jajuga says that this weather we are experiencing is “extremely hot and ruins the usual feel of October. All the Halloween decorations make it seem like its nice out, but when you step outside it is brutal.” It feels as though it is summer outside, making it hard to get into the spirit.

Some of the most looked forward to activities during spooky season include pumpkin patches, corn maze, apple picking, and hayrides. Taking cute pictures with sweaters, leggings and pumpkins is a must for so many. These are all too hard to do in weather like Florida is experiencing right now. This is on record one of the hottest September and October months that we have experienced in years. Everyone looks forward to pumpkin spice lattes and the leaves changing colors, but with this weather making it feel like it is the middle of the summer, the spirit is going down.
