IHOP pancakes are superior.

Pancakes are a gift from the gods. If someone dislikes pancakes, they are not human and should not be trusted. Although homemade pancakes are very good, restaurants serve up delicious dishes that are addicting and will leave you craving them for weeks. So, which restaurant has the best pancakes?

  1. IHOP- IHOP is known for pancakes. It literally stands for the International House of Pancakes. A really good thing about IHOP is the vast variety of pancakes. One can get pancakes with fruit on them, special flavors such as dulce de leche, or just original. All choices at IHOP are good choices. Plus, there is delicious syrup in multiple flavors such as blueberry. The pancakes themselves are light and fluffy. They don’t crumble, which is a really good thing. One does not simply go to IHOP and not get pancakes. A lot of IHOP locations are open 24/7, so a late-night pancake run is very possible, especially because these pancakes are quality. They get a 10/10.
  2. Cracker Barrel- Cracker Barrel is a place that feels like home. It is a U.S. staple, especially for the South. They have a lot of amazing food, but the thing that I always reach for is the pancakes. The pancakes are buttery and crispy on the edges but soft in the middle. It is a perfect mix of buttery and sweet, especially when adding the iconic syrup. Even though the choices of pancakes are fewer than at IHOP, you can still get blueberry pancakes or pancakes with fruit on top of them. At any time of the day, Cracker Barrel pancakes are appropriate. These scrumptious pancakes deserve a 9/10.
  3. First Watch- First Watch is an excellent place to go for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. There are lots of options, many being healthier than the ordinary restaurant meal. The pancakes are very good, even if they might not be as healthy as the rest of the menu. There are a couple kinds that can be ordered, including a lemon ricotta flavor. These pancakes are very good, but a little bit crumbly. There is no fancy syrup or anything, but they are impressive enough. The thing that sets these apart from others is the fact that since it is being served at a restaurant that is known for being a bit healthier, you automatically feel a little healthier, even though you are not. These get an 8.5/10.
  4. Perkins- Perkins pancakes are pretty good. They are kind of similar to IHOP pancakes, but they just don’t have the same feel to them. Maybe it’s the atmosphere in the restaurant or something else, but they aren’t as good as other pancakes. Perkins is another place open 24/7 so it is really easy to get pancakes late at night. I find these pancakes to be average. They are not super good, but not terrible either. The have a decent texture and flavor, but the feeling just isn’t the same. These garner a respectable 8/10.

I don’t think I have ever come across a terrible pancake. Pancakes are just really good, and it is hard to come across a bad one. All pancake places listed above are great and pancakes would be a safe bet at any of them.
