Turkey Day

Thanksgiving is only a week away, and it’s coming up very fast. It feels as if March was yesterday and we were all just in quarantine. Somehow, November snuck up on us and Thanksgiving is right around the corner.

Arguably the best holiday, Thanksgiving is coming up soon. However, with the pandemic still going on, one wonders if Thanksgiving will even be the same this year. The holiday with the best food, might not necessarily be celebrated with extended family, but only the immediate. If one has family that lives in another state, they may not be able or willing to get on a plane to come down here. The holiday about coming together and thankfulness, might have to be celebrated over Zoom or Facetime while eating turkey from two different homes. However, many people will have a normal Thanksgiving like always. However, this year I have not heard anyone talking about this great day or this great meal yet. I feel like usually people are talking about it at least a little bit before it happens, but this year I haven’t heard anything at all. Thanksgiving, in my opinion, is the best holiday. It has the best type of food and is one of the few times of the year that turkey is served. Because of how great the holiday is, more people should be talking about it regardless of the circumstances in the world right now.

Another issue this year is Black Friday. While stores are open, they still have a maximum capacity that is allowed in. Every store is going to have a very long line and shopping on Black Friday will be mostly waiting in line. Because of this, some stores like Target and Best Buy have already started their Black Friday deals. However, there are still may stores that haven’t started their sales. But with COVID spiking recently, who knows how busy it will really be next week.
