I’m hopping over to IHOP

My family and I were faced with another night time dilemma of what to eat for dinner. Everybody wanted something different, mom didn’t want to spend a lot of money, and we didn’t want to spend a lot of time out. When someone brainstormed, let’s eat at IHOP, I was all onboard. “Sure,” I said. “Everybody loves IHOP!”

My family and I ate at the IHOP (International House of Pancakes) located at 30200 US Highway 19 North at the intersection of 19 and Curlew Road. I have eaten at this location before, but it has been a while. I was pleased to see the restaurant had plenty of empty parking spaces and tables, meaning we should be able to get in and out quickly.

We were greeted immediately by our waitress and seated wherever we liked. The restaurant was very clean and very well lit. The furnishings looked fairly new. The restaurant smelled good, with no weird smells like there are in some places.

Because there is such a variety on the menu, everybody was able to find what they wanted quickly and order. Prices were affordable with adult entrees ranging between $8.00-12.00 and kids’ meals were $5.99. I did find it funny that everyone originally wanted something different, but when it came down to the time to order, everyone ended up ordering breakfast food. Most ordered scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, and French toast with some sausage and fried eggs thrown in there, too.

When it came time to eat, our order was accurate. It came out pretty fast. The food was hot, seemed fresh, and tasted good. It didn’t seem greasy like some fried breakfast food can be. No one in our party of six had any complaints, which is saying something at my family’s dinner table! My only complaint about my dinner was something that the waitress couldn’t control; there weren’t any straws for my drink. I don’t like drinking without a straw so that was unfortunate, but they are having supply-chain issues, so it’s understandable. Overall, I would give this IHOP a 3.5 and that’s mainly because it’s weird to give an IHOP more than that, but I do recommend it for any quick, cheap family dinners, especially with younger children.
