This edition of Senior Spotlight focuses on two Seniors who have competed for the Eagles for several of the past fall seasons. Now in their senior year it’s time to shed some light on them.

Tyler Higbee – Varsity Football # 19

How long have you been playing football? Since I was 8 so like 10 years

How long have you been on varsity? 3 years

Have you always been a wide receiver? Yep

What are your goals for your senior season? To win a state championship 

Funniest high school football moment? When Cody Williamson broke a table during a meeting 

What keeps you motivated for games? The Friday night lights 

What are your plans for next year? Hopefully play ball somewhere on scholarship 

Any offers? 1, Colorado State 

What is your advice for future East Lake football players?  Just work har 

Favorite route to run – Under route  

What’s the most memorable moment of your career? JV Tarpon game, came back 14 points with like two minutes left. 

Did you ever play any other sports? Yes, baseball 

Why number 19? I don’t know, Keyshawn?

Lauran Eschenroeder – Varsity Volleyball  

How long have you playing volleyball? Since sophomore year 

How long on varsity? 2 and a half years 

Ever played another sport? I used to play tennis, I started volleyball to cross train and to play something different. I also used to ride horses.

What were your goals for senior year? Go to states, and make the all star team for Pinellas County. 

Favorite thing about volleyball? How it’s a team sport rather than an individual. 

What’s your pregame routine like? All the girls go over to someone’s house and we just watch TV or do homework and hangout then we have team meal. 

How tall are you? 6’0’’ but with shoes on on the court I say I’m 6’1’’ 

Would you rather have a block or a spike? A spike 

Plans for next year? I received a scholarship to Savannah College of Art and Design  in Savannah, Georgia 

What keeps you motivated game after game? Wanting to go to states, and just always trying to improve. 

Does volleyball have any big rivals? Palm Harbor of course, and Countryside.
