The East Lake High School football season is going pretty well so far. The Eagles have a record of 3-2 and are 2-0 in their district and look on track to make the playoffs again. And for any Eagles fans, perhaps the most exciting games of the season happened this Friday and will be played today.

Friday was an exciting game for the Eagles. They travelled to Ware County, GA to face the Gators in an interstate battle. The trip itself is 5 hours long for only a 2 hour game, so it’s important for the Eagles to make the most of that trip and come home with a win. The Gators are a formidable team and Georgia is one of the best high school football states in the nation, so this Friday’s game should be a good one.

The Eagles then have a quick turnaround and play the Tarpon Springs Spongers on Monday. This game was supposed to be the Eagles homecoming game; however, Hurricane Irma took that game away from them. Monday will be the final makeup game the Eagles play. Tarpon has always been a huge rival of East Lake and the game always draws in huge crowds. Monday should be no different. The excitement has been building up for this game for a while and the time to play has almost come. The Spongers are having a pretty good season so far so it should be a good contest.

After these two exciting games, the Eagles will coast into a much needed bye week. Then they’ll have three games left in the regular season before playoffs. The coming games will be a good test of endurance as a team and their ability to finish strong. Come support your Eagles Monday night at home against Tarpon. The game will start at 7:30.
