LeBron James is fed up. Despite him averaging 26 points and 8 assists and 8 rebounds this season, the Cleveland Cavaliers are not the best team in the league, or even Eastern Conference for that matter. They have lost 6 of their last 10 games, losing notably to the Houston Rockets in a 32-point blowout, and to the Orlando Magic, who have one of the worst records in all of the NBA right now, with 18 wins in 54 games.

With the Cavaliers struggling to be consistent and different teammates struggling to find their shot each week, this has caused a rift between players, in addition to James’ current feud with the team’s front office, particularly with owner Dan Gilbert. These circumstances between James and Gilbert ensued after he decided not to renew former GM David Griffin’s contract after the 16-17 season. According to Bleacher Report’s Alec Nathan, “Since then, turmoil has engulfed the organization from top to bottom, with Gilbert reportedly seizing control of basketball operations.” While Griffin would approach James and discuss possible trades or deals, Dan Gilbert has not spoken with LeBron regarding any team decisions. This has seriously damaged any relationship that he could have had with the owner and Cavs’ current GM Koby Altman. According to Jason Lloyd from The Athletic, “James cursed toward at least two team executives” in a late January team meeting.

James has decided not to waive his no-trade clause for this season as he intends to finish the season in Cleveland. With the current front office situation, the outlook is not so good on James wanting to stay with the team come next season when he is a free-agent. Rumors around the NBA have been targeting Houston or Los Angeles as his next destination, but these are all speculation as of now.
