With another brilliant offensive display, the Lightning defeated the Philadelphia Flyers in Philly by the score of five to two on Tuesday night. They were coming off a game the day before in which they won in Columbus on national TV, coasting to an easy 5 to 1 win.  This extended their current win streak to seven games in a row, doing so for the third time this season. In that seven-game stretch they’ve outscored opponents 35-12 and it appears no matter how hot a team is doing, the Lightning have found a way to win night in and night out as they continue an absolutely dominant performance that will possibly be remembered as one of the greatest hockey teams to ever play in the NHL. With 96 points already, they are on pace to achieve 130 points in one season, which is insanely rare and has not been done in recent times.

Two big players for the Lightning are our two stellar netminders in Andrei Vasilevskiy and Louis Domingue, who have both in their own way been absolutely lights out. Domingue, our backup goalie, is currently setting the Lightning franchise record for most wins in a row right now with 11. That’s right; our BACKUP goalie is setting records. Meanwhile, Vasilevskiy has taken control of the record for the most shut outs in Lightning history with 18, including six this season and two of them in the last week. Vasy went 184 minutes without allowing a goal at one point to two of the hottest teams (Philadelphia Flyers and Montreal Canadians) that are fighting for playoff spots. Nikita Kucherov, is also living in his own world right now as his stick is on fire with 99 points on the season compared to the next best in Patrick Kane at 90. This includes getting a point on all five goals in the game against Columbus.

The Lightning are on pace to win 62 games, which has only been done once before by the 1995-96 Detroit Red Wings. Also, only three teams have ever put up more than 128 points in a season (1976-77 Montreal Canadians, 1995-96 Detroit Red Wings, and 1977-78 Montreal Canadians.)
