There are some notable names coming to the US from the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Cuba, and Mexico. This includes Manuel Beltre, Armando Cruz, Wilman Diaz, and Yoelqui Cespedes, the half-brother of Yoenis Cespedes. Yoenis is currently a free agent.

Yoelqui Cespedes, 23, who is from Yara, Cuba, signed a $2 million contract with the Chicago White Sox on December 22,2020. He can play all three outfield positions, left, right, and center. He played for Cuba’s World Baseball Classic team and Caribbean Series in 2017. He is a plus runner, a solid defender and a line-drive hitter who can hit the ball to any part of the field. He is likely to make his MLB debut in 2022.

Diaz, 17, who is from Maracay, Venezuela, signed with the Dodgers on January 15,2021. He is a shortstop. He has excellent bat speed and can recognize pitches. He also has power. He can field on both sides to make plays. He clocked at 6.4 seconds in the timed 60-yard run. He also has the speed to be a good baserunner with the potential to be a base stealer. He is likely to make his MLB debut in 2025.

Beltre,16, who is from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, signed with the Toronto Blue Jays on January 15,2021. He is a shortstop. He began to play internationally with teams from the Dominican Republic back in 2014. He also moved on to travel ball teams in Florida. He starred on the Dominican Republic’s U14 and U15 squads in international tournaments. He has good hands with good range and a quick transfer. He has a good-arm potential for either shortstop or second base, he has the potential to be an above-average transfer. He has a good work ethic and game play abilities according to scouts. He also is an average runner.

This year, there are some key names that are going to sign. They aren’t likely to make their MLB debuts this season. It includes Martin Gonzales and Lazaro Montes. Gonzales is a shortstop from the Dominican Republic. Montes is a first baseman and outfielder.
