From tailgates to baby powder to obnoxious cheers, Blue Crue has done it all. Blue Crue, arguably the best high school student section in the county or even the state, has been a part of many seniors’ Friday night fun. I joined Blue Crue my freshman year of high school and four years later, it’s sad to think that I’ll never again cheer as loud as I can in the packed bleachers sporting my Blue Crue t shirt. In fact, one of my favorite memories from this year was cheering with Blue Crue during the very dramatic PHU game.

This past Friday night, as East Lake dominated against Clearwater High School, Blue Crue celebrated senior night with a fun 80s dress up theme. The student section was filled with neon, leg warmers, and big hair. At kickoff, Blue Crue shot off rainbow confetti cannons and created a magical moment that seemed to be a scene straight out of a Disney Channel movie. Overall, senior Breann Barone said, “I loved 80s night because we don’t get a decade days dress up day during homecoming week anymore.”

Throughout my time in Blue Crue, I’ve experienced being yelled at to stand up in the back and cheer louder, being lost in the middle of the section, and standing in the front row with the best view in the house. Every game, win or lose, was an exciting experience and highlight of my week. As Blue Crue president Stony Hooker said “It’s been a wild ride. Long live the Crue and always bleed that blue!”
