Getting my septum pierced

Come with me on the journey of another piercing.

Me right after I got my septum piercing.

I believe that when you are young, piercings won’t make a difference. A small hole may scar but nothing permanent like a tattoo. Which is why, when I get bored with life and need a change, a piercing is something I always consider. A septum in a piercing on the cartilaginous wall that divides the two nostrils. The cartilage is, however, usually not pierced. It is the thin strip of very soft and flexible skin, just between the cartilage and the bottom of the nose, or the sweet spot, that is pierced.

I have a pretty high pain tolerance, I’ve had five piercings up my ears, my cartilage, and nose stud. Getting piercings have always been easy for me. But this one, this one I could have never predicted the pain of it. There was no solid reason to even get it. I was never planning on it until my stepmom encouraged me to, which made me think. Why not?

My sister had got it done before and she said it was the easiest, and least painful piercing she has ever gotten, which made me feel a lot better. I wasn’t nervous per say, just anxious. But I made my way to Atomic Tattoos where the piercing guy is the best one I’ve ever been to and became more excited than anything else.

And although the pain was a solid 6/10, it was worth it! Plus I didn’t flinch, or tear up which is crazy considering I was getting a needle shoved into my nose. Definitely hurt more than my regular nose piercing I got about a year ago. That was about 3/10 on the pain scale.

But long story short, you have to make spontaneous discussions sometimes! I didn’t wake up that morning knowing I was gonna get yet another piercing. But I’m sure glad I did!
